Most of our guests come to us through the VRBO (HomeAway) and AirBnB websites. There is a rental agreement that we will send to you, which mirrors the terms found both here, and the booking websites. The house handbook has a lot of information for local areas, and we have maps and touring books on hand as well. We have a gate code, and a lockbox code, which will give you the access you need. We also have online tutorials for using hot tub, popcorn machine, entertainment equipment, and other routine but nice-to-know items.
VRBO and AirBnB handle fees differently, such as extra charges such as hot tub. With AirBnB we have to add the $30 hot tub fee separately, while VRBO line items the fee, and gives you an option to choose hot tub or extra guests.
We have links to our listings under the RESERVATIONS tab at the top of this page, but in the event the links don’t work for your system, in VRBO we are vacation home #769717. In AirBnB, you have to find us by specifying our home town of Vida.
Pet fee is a per pet charge, and must be approved. No smoking in house, campfires are restricted to Fire Department regulations (burning season, bucket of water nearby, debris cleared away).
Reservations may require a minimum night stay. Because a 2016 guest built a campfire during our no-burn season, despite being advised that fires were not allowed, we have added a clause to the contract in which the renter accepts full financial responsibility for any damages caused by their actions. We are a “safety first” family, and take your safety, our safety, and the safety of our neighbors quite seriously. Anything you think we can do better along these lines is always welcomed.
Finally, since we are right on the water, in an effort of complete transparency, we want you to know you the following:
